Regarding projects. My friend Ludvík and I are collaborating (with him drawing and I coloring.)
We’re making a children’s book, working with Ludvík’s mom where she’ll be writing stories from her youth on the Faroe islands. Unfortunately they’ll be published in faroese language only but here’s the illustrations ;) I think it’ll be a really cool book, there’s some cool characters in it that I really can relate to.

Currently in the process of making the final art-project for this year. We have two weeks to finish a larger project that’s based in a closed elementary school were we will be holding our exhibition.
So of course, I choose to make something difficult..(typically me) I’m making some life-sized human sculptures, based on my own 7’th grade photo. The sculptures are being made of chicken wire and paper mache..(which I haven’t used since 4’th grade) And now my fingers hurt from bending all that chicken wire :’(
Also, apologizing the bad photo-quality..I couldn’t find my SD-card for a really long time so I couldn’t use my nikon :(

A small WIP, working on a sketch for a larger painting. Adding the light sources so when I start painting, it’s easier for me to pick colors.

Here’s what I’ve been working on for the past week. Going back to nature’s textures, I took inspiration in the sea. Started by taking photos of the water, printing it out and exaggerate the form by cutting it out in different types of material. The materials are plastic bags and tissue paper.

Here are two photos of what I’ve been doing for the past two weeks with Rasmus Rosengaard as teacher. He was a very calm, collected and patient guy, really cool. You should definitely go check out his paintings, they’re amazing.
So our subject was painting. I never knew it would come to this but I felt very limited painting only. Since I began on this school, the primary focus has been other materials or other ways of expressing yourself, like videomaking, woodcarving or recycling materials.
Starting off, Rasmus didn’t give us any assignments but wanted us to make our own work. That’s were I started making the wood-eye with the waves (you can see it further down the page.)
Later on we got a small assignment where we had to create an atmosphere. Thats the first painting. We talked about how I have a tendency to muck my paintings, over-work it and how I keep choosing the same color scale with the red and blue colors.. So he took a giant sheet of textile, put it on the wall and asked me to fill it out and try to do something less decorative. This really made me think of how much I actually love figurative imagery but also how it’s a comfort-zone for me, possibly stopping me from evolving..But all in all, the experience have probably been really healthy for me. It’s good to break out of your comfort zone sometimes.
